Could you use an extra $250?

We’ll ask you again (as if we don’t already know the answer), but could you use an extra $250?  If so, enter your best ag-related photo from your local fair in our photo contest on Facebook.

So what kind of photos are we looking for?  Anything that represents agriculture taken at a fair – shots of your kids winning their first blue ribbon, in the petting zoo, checking out the equipment, and more!  Your creativity could land you the grand prize.

But, you’ll need to hurry because the deadline to enter is September 30, 2012 and then we’ll open up the polls for public voting.  We can’t wait to see your favorite fair memories – Good luck!

It’s the end of the summer and of course, fair season is in full swing.  Most likely you have already indulged yourself in cotton candy, French fries, ferris wheel rides, and blue ribbons…but over the next few weeks there is still more to come!

It’s Fair Season (Already?)!

The aroma of popcorn, cotton candy, and hot dogs fill the air.  You hear children laughing and cows ‘mooing’.  Your feet are aching from walking all day and you are ready to sit down and enjoy a ride on the Ferris wheel.  Does that sound about right – like your last trip to your local fair?

Well, in case you are ready to get back out there and enjoy the cool summer nights, there are tons of fairs going on in your area in the next couple weeks!  Whether it’s the first time you’ll attend, or a continued family tradition, be sure to check these out:

• July 11-14: Talbot Co. Fair, Easton, MD
• July 12-15: Baltimore Co. 4-H Fair, Timonium, MD
• July 19-28: Delaware State Fair, Harrington, DE
• July 20-28: Cecil Co. Fair, Childs, MD
• July 21-28: Washington Co. Ag Expo & Fair, Boonsboro, MD

Tell all your “peeps”

Want a chance to win $250? Well, then it is time to sharpen up your photography skills because our fair photo contest has begun!

It’s time to scour your local fairgrounds for those priceless photo op moments where your child wins a blue ribbon in the show ring, the fair queen is crowned, or that fuzzy little chick looks like it is dying to have its’ photo taken (like the photo shown, courtesy of Michelle Bambary who was our 2011 contest winner).

The rules are simple – just go to our Facebook page and click “Fair Photo Contest” to enter your picture between now and September 30, 2012. Once we open the photos up to the public on October 1, 2012, you’ll want to tell your “peeps” to vote for you to win the grand prize. There are also prizes for 2nd and 3rd place and voting will end on October 19, 2012.

So what are you waiting for? Find your camera, become a fan of our Facebook page, and head out to your local fairs to capture the winning $250 ag-related photo of your fair-weather friends!
